Evercoat Match & Patch Kit

This product was a big disappointment - the small tubes of pigment had so little product inside I only got a small bit of color, not enough to work with to adjust to get a good color match.

Kit should include a larger quantity of resin. If more than one color from kit is used to arrive at color to be matched, instructions should say the colors should be mixed before being mixed with the resin. The color wet is not the color dry. Note the portion of colors mixed and try somewhere it does not show before applying that color mix to the whole job and leave it low some a different mix can be added over it if necessary. The finished product is hard and can be wet sanded with 800 grit to a very smooth surface. Overall, a great product but overpriced.

This is the first time I have done a gelcoat repair. It was surprising how easy it was to use. i was able to mix a close match to the cream color of my kayak. I am very please with the results.

Should have mixed up a good size batch and only added harner to a small amount of it. Then I could have let it dry and be sure color was correct. If not I could have adjusted color and added hardner to a small amount and get another look. Once color is right then apply the gel coat repair.

This is a large kit. Box items come in is not well organized, everything is just kind of loose in the package. It seemed that if I used too much of the coloring material that patches did not harden. Also seemed difficult to make patches that were bubble free. That said I was able to make almost invisible patches. Would also work well to fix fiberglass tubs or sinks that are chipped.
