Product Details

Moeller holding tanks can be used to store either freshwater supplies or marine toilet waste. Tanks are molded from rigid FDA approved linear polyethylene which meets the CFR 177.1520 criteria. Heavier wall thickness for strength and a 3" inspection port on larger capacity tanks.

Each tank features standard NPT (tapered) fill, drain, and vent openings. Polyethylene construction ensures that the tank will not emit foul odors when used as black water holding tank. Designed for waste or water holding, and available in capacities from 4 to 76 gallons. Translucent design enables visual tank level readings.

Nice fit, good construction

Used as our waste tank, great with the three outlets to use for installing a macerator pump as well as a deck pump out line. We were able to even install a vent line with absolutely no problem at all. We had to use some adapters to get the size down to the one we needed but it all worked out very well, this was a well designed tank, very durable, meets USCG recommendations as well as this liveaboards, I installed it in two days with the first day being dedicated to making a custom mount for it as close to our bilge as I could get it.

I am new to house boating and am replacing my marine head by myself. Yes, I'm a woman! So far I have nothing but positive things to say about this product. Easy to install. Most importantly, I'm confident that I have chosen the right product. And when you're talking ""sewage holding tanks,"" confidence is paramount!

Excellent waste tanks - very rugged

Moeller makes a line of superior holding tanks. I bought one- installed it and have been very satisfied. Naturally, I used new heavy duty white hoses, clamps and fittings. Leak free and odor free. The tank is the key component. Don't skimp here.

Q: can I get tank with 3- 1 1/2 inlet/outlet and 1- 1/2 vent

1 Answer

A: The Todd holding tanks have 2 1 1/2 and 1 1/2"" vents, you could buy a fitting kit and add a 3rd 1 1/2. https://www.jamestowndistributors.com/userportal/show_product.do?pid=6477

Q: what size holding tank do you recommend for 40 ft sailboat?

1 Answer

A: IMO, it depends on a couple of factors: how large and what shape is the area that can hold your tank? This may limit the tank you get. Also, how do you intend to use it - as a liveaboard with frequent use? Or a rare, occasional head use when other facilities are unavailable? If liveaboard, go as large as will fit. I have a 30 ft motor yacht and bought the 13 gallon one - we use the boat almost every weekend. Hope that helps.

Q: I see the intake, outlet and vent ports on this tank. Ho hard would it be to install a monitoring sensor?

A: Very simple, I used the __quote__Sensa Tank__quote__ that goes on the outside. They stick on and have a very nice panel to monitor levels of the grey water and fresh water levels. Very nice and easy and surprisingly inexpensive. Very happy with all of it. I did my boat and my brothers in about 4 hours. Hope this helps.

Q: MOE 041230*****28__quote__x23__quote__x11 1/2__quote__ I want to lay this tank on its side so that the 11 1/2 __quote__ is its base . Will the tank properly empty in this position ?

A: Short answer no. The outlet hole would then only allow half of the waste to be dumped. If you had a macerator pump you could try to put a pick up hose on the inside, however this may prove to be very difficult to rig up permanently.
