1 - 1 of 1 Question
Q: I'm replacing the fuel shut off valves om my 86 GW sailfish. There is a 90 deg. elbow coming out of the tank(not original) which had a fuel shut off valve screwed into one end. The valve has a nipple on the other side where the fuel line was attached. About the only thing I'm sure of is that the fuel line has a 3/8 "" ID. I've measured the existing valve that mates with the elbow and it also has a 3/8 "" ID. I have not removed the elbows from the tank but will if necessary. So what I'm after is an understanding of term NPT. Will a 3/8 NPT fit the existing elbow? I like the Groco 90 degree valve since it appears that I can screw it directly into the tank and eliminate the existing elbow.

A: Most fuel fittings and elbows are NPT, usually the only NPS fittings are thru-hull fittings.
