Product Details

Shields SHIELDSAUST-C exhaust hose is designed for longer wet exhaust connections with significant bends. Shieldsaust C is suitable for engine intake or scupper lines. Black synthetic rubber tube and cover. Reinforced with double wire helix embedded between plies of synthetic cord. Resistant to: exhaust fumes, ozone, mild chemicals, antifreeze, salt water. Abrasion resistant.

Temperature range: -20F to +200F continuous, +250F intermittent. Meets SAE J2006 Type R2. 12-1/2 feet in length.

Shieldsaust-C Wet Exhaust Hose

I replaced the existing wet exhaust hose on my Westerbeke 27 with this product. It installed very easily. The bend radius is excellent - no kink problems. I haven't launched the boat yet, so I can't comment on reliability or durability. I expect it will last as well as other similar products.

Best bang for your $$$

I used the Shields SHIELDSAUST-C Exhaust Hose to replace the exhaust hoses on my westerbeke boat generator. The product appears to be made very well and was easy to install. After shopping around I found it MUCH less expensive (about $4 a foot) to purchase from JTD [...] then to buy locally.

Q: Can you sell Shields exhaust C 2 inch ID flexible hose in 5 foot lengths? I don't need 12 feet.

A: Hi David, we only sell this in 12 ft lengths. You may be able to find a local boat yard that may sell cut lengths.

Q: I have a Yanmar 3HM35F diesel engine installed in a 1987 Hunter Legend 37.5 sailboat and I need to replace the exhaust hose between the elbow and the muffler. The OD of the elbow is 2 inches and I estimate it is about 8 feet in length. The hose does need some flexibility to go straight down from the elbow, through a portion of the hull and up to the muffler. The hose must bend 90 from the elbow into the hull but then there are only gentle bends to the muffler. What is the most durable yet flexible exhaust hose I can purchase that meets or exceeds the specs?

A: 90 degree bend. ?? They will all bend to 90 degrees if the bend radius is laRge. You need to look at the bend radius specs. That will tell you what you need to know. Maybe measure radius on your existing hose Mark

A: It only comes in 12' lengths. You would have to use a coupler.

A: I just don't think the 4quote exhaust hose that we used will work. It is very stiff and for what you plan to use it for, no.
