Q: null I need to install a direct power source from my battery to my fishfinder/chartplotter. What size and should it be fused?

A: Yes it definitely needs to be fused. As far as size your owners manual should give you an amp rating which will let you know what size fuse and what size wire you need to run.

Q: null I havea 3 wire( red, reen and black) DC circuit runnin to an outlet that I want to split into another run for a second outlet. This looks to have two screws. What do I do with the reen wire?
13 years ago2 Answers
A: I assume you are referring to a 110 volt plug. If some the black is usually the hot wire, the red is the return wire, and the green is the ground wire. If this is the case you should change the second outlet to one with a green (ground) connection usually found on the side of the plug. Hope this helps.
