Good switch

Good switch for matching with Rule Bilge pumps (I have the 750 gph with built-in float switch). Installation manual for easy installation. Requires female clip on connectors for connecting your wires, similar to most wiring panels.

Q: Hello, I am pairing a Rule 2000 Bilge Pump with a Rule 3-Way Panel Lighted Bilge Pump Switch. The pump is designed torun every three minutes. When the panel light illuminates, is it a function of water pressure or simply indication power is present to the pump? Thank you

A: The light is an indication of power to the pump. When the pump is running, the light should be on.

Q: Regarding the Rule 41 or 42 3-way switch, in ""auto"" the pump runs about every 3 minutes. That's quite frequent and rather annoying. Is there any way to change the timing? In ""off"", the float doesn't seem to work, so that's not a good option.

A: In the Automatic mode of the switch it powers the float or water sensor of the pump. If you have an automatic bilge pump it's the pump that's doing that which is a normal function of that type of pump.

Q: my pump works on manual but not auto. Is it switch malfunction or a number of other things?

A: Most likely a bad connection to the float switch, or float switch is bad, easy to test.

Q: i have a rule-mate 1100 do i need to hook up a # 41 panel switch?

A: You do not need a panel switch. You can wire directly to battery and it will be __quote__on__quote__ all the time. I like the panel switch because it gives me add'l flexibility. It can be on __quote__auto__quote__ as if wired directly, and can also be turned off (when my boat is on the lift and not used for extended periods), and I can also switch to manual (just to check operation, etc.) Note that the switch also includes a fuse, which you would need to add if wired directly. Hope this is helpful.

Q: I have 3 way on off auto switch that feed a 3 wire water censer float switch that feed the RULE 12V 2 wire Bilge Pump. This is in a 13 ft Boston whaler 1987 thru 1990 or so. How can Get wiring for this 3wire float switch ? John Jomar36@hotmail

A: I have installed same on carolina skiff and installed 1/2__quote__cpvc pipe as conduit to keep wiring neat. Plastic one hole straps did a nice job. The sun hasn't affected it in 7 years. If you are asking for a wiring diagram , google it. One wire is ground, the auto post wire goes through __quote__auto__quote__ float switch and the __quote__on__quote__ post wire bypasses the float switch and is connected to same wire leaving float switch to pump.
