Product Details

Add EZ-Poxy performance enhancer to one-part, solvent-based Pettit topside finishes for higher gloss, durability, longevity, and scratch resistance. This additive increases flow out of brush strokes and roller stipple, providing a mirror-like high gloss finish.

Use with EZ Poxy, EZ Bilge, and EZ Decks for the appearance and performance associated with expensive 2-part linear polyurethane finishes. Unlike 2-part paints, paint and varnish catalyzed with Performance Enhancer can be applied over one-part finishes in good condition. Use one 8 oz. can per gallon of paint or varnish.

Didn't get to use it! DO NOT use for SPRAY paint application. I wished it was more obvious in the description.

Q: How much enhancer do you use in a quart of Top side paint. Does this paint store well or do you have to use it all at one tine?

1 Answer

A: Only mix as much as you need as the paint must be applied within 2 to 5 hours depending on environmental conditions. Complete instructions are listed as tech specs under the ""more info"" tab. Here's a link to the mixing instructions:https://doc.jamestowndistributors.com/userportal/pdfs/Pettit/Pettit_3021_EZ-Poxy_Performance_Enhancer_Technical_Bulletin.pdf

Q: I plan on rolling and tipping this paint. I have the enhancer you sell. Should I also add reservasol.

2 Answers

A: I am uncertain what reservasol is. I rolled and tipped the black ezpoxy top side with the enhancer on my boat and it came out perfect. I thinned the paint and enhancer mixture with 15% brushing thinner ( or xylene if u want to go a cheaper route). A great paint job is all in the prep work. Do not sand in between coats, just use a fine 3m scuff pad to de gloss the paint. it will prevent sanding through the coats of paint. I recommend 2-3 alternating coats of paint. Then give it a good buff with a compounding kit when done (3m perfect it) and it will come out showroom like!!

Q: Once pot life is exceeded, must leftover paint be discarded or can it still be used as regular, untreated paint?

1 Answer

A: Pot life refers to a mixture of paint and additive. As you exceed pot life for the mixture of paint and additive, the mixture will begin to gel and harden. It will not be useable after the pot life is exceeded. If you won't be using all of the paint within the time of the pot life, then pour the paint you will use into a separate container and only add the additive to this smaller amount.
