Camp Zinc Pencils for marine engines contain pure zinc with brass hex plugs. These anodes typically thread into a port on the raw seawater side of a heat exchanger.
Routine replacement of pencil anodes will greatly extend the life of marine engine coolant systems. The majority of inboard and stern drive engines will benefit from a fresh set of zinc anodes. Pencil zincs provide cathodic protection when in contact with seawater.

Length for pencil Zn one listing 2"" and another 1 1/2"" same designation. Length must be <2"" so which is correct?

fine example of commodity item

This is a fine example of commodity routinely replaced. The element in my heat exchanger is completely missing but brass plug is in fine shape so I'm glad the element-only is also available. see OEM specs at: http://www.campcompany.com/Marine-Engine-Pencil-Anode-E-0.html

Q: null Hello Jamestown distributors ! If I buy a camp pencil anode CAM-E0BC, brass fitting 1/4""NPT to go on my heat exchanger : Can I buy a couple of the zinc pencils alone ? Will I be able to unscrew the used zinc pencil on the brass plug and rethread in the new pencil ? I've noticed that you have the CAM-E0Z in your catalogue : apparently it's the right diameter and thread for my model, but it's too long : 1-3/4"". My maximum length is about 1"" Can you have the 3/4"" model like the one that's mounted on the CAM-E0BC but without the brass cap ? If not, I guess I could just cut the 1-3/4"" pencil to size. I'd dislike wasting half of it though. Also will you ship those to Europe ? Thanks a lot, Yours Bastien O.
