Heavy Duty Split Point drills have 135 degree angle points designed to cut metal. Regular drill bits work with a chisel action, but split point bits work with cutting action, eliminating the possibility of drill 'walking' across the material. Split Point drills have two additional edges ground into the chisel edge which make the entire point of the drill one long cutting edge, reducing the amount of pressure needed to cut. Split point bits are self centering.
All-purpose HSS bit for drilling a broad range of metal applications in Iron and Steel family. Heavy construction resists the severe strains this type of work puts on a drill. Black oxide finish for added lubricity.
