Teleflex SeaStar Outboard Engine Steering Cylinders are designed for single and twin non-power assisted outboard engines up to 300HP. It is available in either front mount or side plate. Suitable for speeds up to 60 MPH, this cylinder features an ultra corrosion resistant construction and rigid tilt tube mount.

The pivoted tiller connection allows full engine articulation and bleeding fittings, sold separately can be purchased for increased durability. The Teleflex HC5345 Seastar Cylinder Package provides easy steering, 5 turns lock to lock steering response as well as single and multiple engine capability.

Multiple replacement parts and accessories are available for the HC5345 cylinder including support brackets, side plates, spacer kits, bleed screws, and washers.

SeaStar outboard steering offers three models of steering cylinders to suit most applications: Front Mount, Side Mount, and Splashwell Mount.

Front Mount cylinders are balanced and the most commonly used. They are designed for single engines to 350 hp and multiple outboard installations with total power to 700 hp in counter rotating applications.

Side Mount cylinders are unbalanced and offer 4.8 or 5.7 turns lock-to-lock. They are suitable for shallow splashwells and use on engines fitted with power steering. For single engines to 300 hp and multiple outboard engine installations with total power to 600 hp in counter rotating applications.

Splashwell Mount cylinders are an unbalanced, light duty alternative to front & side mount with 5.5 ofr 6.5 turns lock-to-lock for engines with or without support tubes. For single engines to 300 hp and multiple outboard engine installations with total power to 600 hp in counter rotating applications. Can be transom or hull mounted.

A: Yes, the tilt tubes are standard. However, the linkage from the end of the steering to the tiller arm may be different. That hardware should be provided by the engine dealer.

Q: null I have a seastar hydrolic front mounted system for a Yamaha 1999 225. I have a leak in seal and tried to get the support arm off but I have bent them. can I replace the support brackets/ thanks

A: Aviation hydraulic fluid milspec 5606h is approved by Teleflex for use in their hydraulic steering systems. Aviation hydraulic fluid will be less expensive than Teleflex hydraulic fluid.
