Product Details

Taylor Made Sur-Mark and Sur-Mark II marker buoys are made of tough UV protected polyethylene. Their seamless design, internal concrete ballast and recessed galvanized eyes make them suitable for marking channels, no wake zones, swim zones, and other hazards.

Both models feature self-righting, internal ballast without requiring additional ballast. Both buoy styles stand upright for storage.

Color labels are available to fit both styles (sold separately).

Q: I'm placing Surmark marker buoys in a small inland lake. How much weight should I use as the anchor. Max depth of 25 foot. No current,

1 Answer

A: We have seen people using anything from a 50-100 lb anchor to a number of cinder blocks chained together, or 5 gallon pails of concrete with an eye sticking out. This will depend on the depth, boating that occurs, as well as general wave heights front wind/boat traffic.

Q: can a sur- mark bouy sink in the frist year of use? It was riding high, now it is lower and lower.

A: It should not. You might want to see if something is fouling the buoy, or if there is a defect.

Q: How much does the buoy # 46104 weigh? Does the Taylor Made Sure-Mark label #46181 wrap completely around buoy #46104 so that it can be seen from all sides? Frank

A: Bought 3 recently, not sure how much it weighs, I don't think it matters.Iif you want them you have to pay shipping if that's what you're thinking, other than that a grown man can carry one with moderate effort. The labels come separately and you have to purchase them separately. There is 2 no wake stickers per side, so yes it can be seen from all sides. Be advised putting the stickers on is hard as hell, we used a 2 persons one held sticker the other wiped it on using a towel.

Q: we have the bouy with the base...trouble is they have 2 and a half cinder blocks holding them but the still float away?...any help you could give would be a blessing.

1 Answer

A: Not sure where you have the bouy placed or how deep the water is but 2 cinder blocks seems way to light. Have heard of people using old washing machine with concrete in them but that was for boat mooring maybe an old washer by itself ( again I have no idea how deep etc so this maybe big time over kill. Are you using chain or rope
