It's just plastic but buying from Jamestown makes it better

Nothing unique about a roll of plastic wrap. It's very good quality and gets the job done. But buying from Jamestown is so simple. They're awesome to deal with on the phone. This item shipped same day I ordered it and I had it immediately. I'd buy from JF in a heartbeat. I also love that they tend to sell high quality product only. None of the poorly made stuff at WM. JD is solid

worked great

The shrink wrap and door performed great. I did my 22' Tripps and my nephew's Grady and still have some for next year. Make sure to use a heat gun not a weed killer.

shrink wrap

I wish I had discovered this stuff years ago, it would have saved me considerable work. Boats don't like being on the hard, unprotected for considerable time. We opted to seal/shrink with standard heat guns. The flame bit didn't impress me. Also installed a door which will allow access though out the cold winter. We wrapped a Globe 38.

I used this wrap for the protection of escalators that were exposed to the elements for a short time prior to installation. The product worked great.

The Right Stuff

Good weight of mil thickness for New England, where wind and snow loads will tear the lighter stuff. Be sure to add vents in cover or mold will be astronomical in spring. Saves a ton on UV of wear and tear.

Easy to Use, Very Durable

This film is your standard shrink wrap film that you see just about everywhere in the Winter. It's easy to use, especially with a good heat gun, and it's very durable. I had only a few rips & tears after last year's brutal winter. The only cons are that it's difficult to work when it's cold, just like any other shrinkwrap out there. The price is right, too. I saved myself a lot of money doing this myself.

Q: null Good day, asking about vents installation ? Do I need to install at lease two?, for a Wooden 1952 Rivera that will be in the weather with snow and sun . Thank you. Pete.

A: Vents are recommended to reduce condensation from moisture sealed inside the cover. The number you use depend on the size of the boat. For 20 feet or less, two should be sufficient. I use your on my 35 foot sailboat. Consider installing one or more solar vents drawing air in at one end and one or more passive vents allowing air out at the other end.

Q: null sailboat 41 ft x 11 ft beam - for 6 foot center clearance above deck what width should I use?

A: I have a similar sized boat and use 24 to 26 foot width by 50 to 55 foot long. I've found that a 26 x 100 foot roll will give me just enough for two seasons. I cut it at 50'. The big pieces that get trimmed off the bow are added to the stern if needed when closing it up. I used to use pvc pipe for hoops but find that 1/2__quote__ conduit bent to shape and labeled is less work. With some practice, you can get the plastic to bond to itself at closures and overlaps... heat and slap with a gloved hand. Once bonded, it is stronger than a taped joint. With a sailboat, you get a lot of practice around the stays.
