The Shields 245S 45 degree elbows have a much higher temperature rating (up to 350° F) when compared to standard EDPM rubber fittings. The blue silicone rubber is also far more tolerant to exhaust misalignment, vibration and engine movement.
The Shields exhaust fittings feature 100% silicone rubber reinforced with a multi-ply polyester construction. Shields high temperature silicone exhaust fittings are resistant to: exhaust fumes, ozone, mild chemicals, antifreeze, and salt water.
Installation: A minimum of two (1/2 in. wide or wider) stainless steel hose clamps should be installed at each end of the hose fitting. Install over pipe or rigid tubing. Not intended for hose-to-hose connections.
