Racor Aquabloc elements are available in different lengths for various flow rates and color coded for 2, 10, and 30 micron filters. The lower the micron rating, the finer the filtration. Lower micron ratings should be considered when there is no additional downstream filtration.
S = Secondary/Final 2 micron (Brown end Cap)
T = Primary or Secondary/Final 10 micron (Blue end Cap)
P = Primary 30 micron (Red end Cap)

Picture doesn't match item- be Careful

They need to update the picture. Parts numbers are sometimes modified to include other items like O-rings. I needed two 30 micron elements for the 500 series Racor. The description said it was 3 microns (I thought it was supposed to say 30) and it said it came without O-rings. I thought it was what I needed because it had a picture of what I needed. It was not, I had to call twice to get it straightened out. They finally credited my account and told me to keep it. Would not have been a problem if they just took another picture.

Q: I HAVE ALWAYS BOUGHT THE 10 MICRON FILTER FOR MY RACOR 500 SERIES SYSTEM. IS THERE AN ADVANTAGE TO USING THE 30 OR 2 MICRON FILTER INSTEAD OF THE 10? SEEMS THAT THE 2 MICRON WOULD REMOVE MORE SEDIMENT/DEBRIS IN THE FUEL BEFORE THE ENGINE FILTER. TX JERRY

A: If you have a secondary filter at 2 microns, then you should not use a 2 micron filters in the Racor primary filter, as it creates additional work for the pump. Yanmar recommends 30 micron for the Racor Primary filters.

Q: draining contaminated diesel fuel from the bottom of filter after changing filter cartridge. Will draining will air get into the line? Should I drain first?

A: I would replace the filter first, run the engine so the filter is full of fuel, shut off, then drain the bottom of the filter. You can drain first but will need to manually refill the filter to the top before running the engine.

Q: how is inside plastic wheel with cup installed how does cup filter sit up or down ?

A: The plastic handle is up. Handle is used to remove old filter and install new. There are 2 rubber gaskets that are replaced. The large goes in the top of the filter housing and the small on the fuel love ne. The photo of the filter is the top, easy to see by the plastic handle on the side.

A: the number is the maximum particle size that will pass through the filter, so 10 micron is more fine than 30.

A: if this is your only filter use a RAC-2010SMOR in thr first container and a RAC-2010TMOR in the second nearest the engine intake. if you have a pre-filter use RAC-2010TMOR & RAC-2010RMOR

A: I don't think Wix 33166 is a replacement for the racor elements. The wix looks like a spin on with metal casing, whereas the racor is a non metal insert cartridge to be put into the racor housing.
