Product Details

Beckson screw-out watertight deck plates provide tool-free easy access to valves, tanks and compartments. These deck plates feature a self-aligning center that makes cross-threading and mis-aligning virtually impossible.

A patented back-up sealing wall ensures waterproof seal, even if the plate gasket is removed. A clear center plate version provides an easy visual access of controls and gauges without the necessity of removing the plate.

Access to valves

Needed easier access to winterizing valves and fresh water tank drain valves located beneath beds on both sides of RV. Up till now I had to disassemble bed frame and cover to turn valves. Now I'm able to spin cover and easily reach all valves to operate for the season. Cut a four hour job (for me) down to five minutes. Winterize an dewinterized myself saving time and money.

Beckson screw in deck plates

I'm an avid fisherman who builds his own boats. The Beckson plates work very well, and they put up with a lot of abuse. They install easily. They will leak a tiny amount of water over a season's time, but others I've tried leak a lot more, and don't like to get beat up.

Q: null so as far as 6 or 4 inch, what determines that? the overall, or the hole size? I have a bunch on my boat where the cover plate is 4"" but if you measure the overall flange it is 6"", so are these considered 4"" or 6"" plates? I prefer to call them inspection ports, but still have not been able to get an answer to that either I need the o-rings, as these are Beckson, and they leak and are hard to thread on correctly. These are on a 1984 Pyramid built, SuperTramp trailerable trimaran.

A: The dimension is inside diameter that the plate threads into.

Q: null Can I use these plates as inspection ports on a Sailboat plastic water tank?

A: I have 2 in my 20 foot canoe and have never had them leak either air or water when fully submerged which happens occasionally.

Q: null What does inside diameter mean? I measured ours and on the top side of the plate it's 4 1/2quote and a little over 6quote across the whole thing including the rim around it.

A: Hello. Based on my knowledge of the product, the inside diameter describes the maximum quotewidthquote something can be to pass through the hole in the deck plate. So, as an example, if the inside diameter of my deck plate is 4 1/2 inches, my fist has to be less than 4 1/2 inches to pass through the hole. I hope that's helpful.
