Product Details

Collinite 920 Fiberglass Boat Cleaner removes dirt, film, oxidation, oil, grease, rust, exhaust stains from fiberglass finishes. Also protects against sun, acid rain and salt spray. Collinite fiberglass cleaner will restore the original color of your boat's finish without hard rubbing or buffing.

Proper application results in a chemically clean surface to which Collinite waxes bond perfectly. Increases long-lasting brilliance and performance of protective wax coating. Fiberglass boat cleaner is available in pint and half gallon sizes.

Info & Guides
Collinite 920 is a pre-wax cleaner. It is not a heavy duty compound, but does contain mild cut abrasives and cleaning agents in the formula. It helps to remove surface contaminants from marine fiberglass surfaces as well as restoring the color and appearance of a finish. No. 920 can also be used for preparing a surface for follow up applications of wax, or for removing previous applications of wax for a uniform finish.

Recommended Use: On surfaces that are discolored, weathered, tarnished, soiled, or stained; light colored clear coat, fiberglass, or gel coat paints; coated, non-coated, or non-painted metals (including aluminum, brass, chrome, copper, stainless steel). Collinite 920 Fiberglass Cleaner should not be used on dark clear coat paint, painted metals, or on surfaces not mentioned prior.

Directions: Shake well prior to use. Apply a thin amount to small sections at a time. Rub well to loosen surface material, and reapply as necessary. Polish surface immediately with a soft, clean, dry cloth or microfiber towel.

Application: Use No 920 with protective eyewear and gloves in a well-ventilated area. Use clean applicator pads and removal towels. Prolonged drying and cure times may lead to the product hardening on the surface. User assumes risk if recommended cure times are exceeded. Drying times vary by conditions. Do not apply in extreme temperatures (less than 55 deg F or greater than 80 deg F). Do not apply to surfaces that feel cold or hot to the touch. If experienced, product may be used with a machine buffer (Check buffer specifications for fiberglass cleaner containing a mild-cut abrasive).

Additional Information:

  • Store product at room temperature
  • Discard product if exposed to freezing temperatures
  • Always keep cap/lid on product when not in use
  • Do not alter product's composition or original packaging

Used it for years

Have used it for over 10 years on a 1996 boat with colored gel coat. Cleans up the surface then follow it with the paste wax. Goes on easy, remove it not long after. Can see and feel the difference.

I don't know what kind of product they used to clean the boat but it looked terrible! For the most part it only took one application, but there were a few spots I had to go over a second time. This product really prepared the fiberglass for the final wax application & the boat looked great after waxing.

Great for spring clean up before wax/sealer. Not a rubbing compound.

Good Cleaner, Oxidation not so fast

Bought it specifically to remove oxidation line along bottom 1"" of boat. It did nothing but clean the area, still leaving oxidation behind. To be fair, our boat is black in this area, but we had high hopes for this product. Also, did not remove water spots. Unlikely to buy again.

By far the best boat cleaner I have ever used and when applied prior to Collinite #925 boat wax you will have your boat shining like never before!! I used both products to restore the hull of a '98 Trophy CC and the results were amazing!!

It can't get easier than this!!

Both the Collinite cleaner and wax are used to care for my 20Ft. fiberglass boat. I can do a complete bow to stern cleaning and waxing in 2 to 3 hours without any effort.

Q: Can this product, Collinite Fiberglass Boat Cleaner, be used to clean my fiberglass shower pan in my bathroom? Also if so can the fleet wax also be applied or will it make the surface slippery?

A: You can use it to clean the fiberglass, it will be more slippery than before application and even more when waxed but will help keep it cleaner longer.

Q: What wax should I use on my boat after cleaning with this product?

A: Using the Collinite Fiberglass Cleaner prior to application of Collinite Liquid Fleetwax No. 870 results in a very durable stain resistant wax polish. I prefer the Liquid Fleetwax to the solid wax product 885 as I find it easier to apply in cooler weather but may not be quite as long lasting. Both are excellent products and both have outlasted all other similar products in my experience. I would strongly recommend pre-cleaning with the Fiberglass cleaner, after a good wash, prior to applying the wax for best results.
