Sherwood Salt water sea strainer
The sea strainer replaced one that was old and leaking. it went in very easily but because it is plastic you need to use alot of teflon tape on the threads or liquid thread sealer to keep the water from leaking thru the the connection. very happy with the delivery time and product.

20m filter
It is used as a secondary filter, behind a 50m one. So far it has work out very well. It is in a raw water line for my stool. The raw water is from the river, and gets very dirty at times.

Washdown System Protection

installed it on a raw water wash down system for boat. Used as the primary filter, it provides extra pump protection besides the filter on the pump (Jabsco 6.0)itself.

Great Product

I used this strainer as a replacement and happy with the product, easy to install using the brackets for a perfect fit. I use this on my Hunter 376 in between the raw water line to the A/C unit.

Q: null Looking to add this to a Sailboat I recently purchased. The engine is an older Yanmar single cylinder that has never had a raw water strainer installed. Can you tell me what comes in the box?? Mounting Bracket, Hose Connections?? Thank you and Happy New Year.
3 years ago2 Answers
A: Strainers have to be cleaned out frequently. For an engine you may want to consider a strainer with a basket that lifts out for easy access. The plastic screw on bowls can be difficult to unscrew if left to sit too long.

A: Yes you can mount that inline with the appropriate fittings. Please reach out to our Tech Team for more specific support for your application. Thank you

Q: null I'm looking to spec a wrench to remove and install the bowl of the sea strainer. M aster sells a number of water filter wrenches, but I need to know the diameter of the bowl. Could you provide? I have the SHE 18016. Thanks in advance.

A: Sorry no information available on the diameter of the bowl and I don't have one in stock to measure.

Q: null Is there a wrench that would work to tighten and loosen the bowl? Would a DuPont standard system wrench work?
6 years ago1 Answer
A: There isn't a specific wrench for this that I know of. The Dupont wrenchs look to be too large for this small diameter filter.

Q: null Using this on raw water intake for A/C pump. Current model # is 18010, just want to double check that 18001 replaces the 18010? Further to that SHE-11810 is the correct replacement screen for either strainer.
6 years ago1 Answer
A: The 18001 is a 3/4"" outlet fitting and the replacement screen is the 11810.
