Great item but not enough sizes
The drain tubes on my boat are 1 1/8"" x 3 "" but this item is only 3/4"" x 2 1/2"". This is a great item if it were only made in a variety of sizes.

Q: null I have a very basic 16ft Aluminum (Alumacraft) boat that has a leaky drain tube. Current one looks very similar to MOE 20848001 but seems to have lost its seal and the washers just spin. I am thinking of replacing it with this drain tube (MOE 2030010). I am not seeing any rubber o-rings, does this come with any or does it need it? What about sealant? Would a 1"" drain tube plug fit in this? I really don't want to purchase a $41 flange tool that I would use once and that's why I am thinking of going with this...

A: O rings dry out and crack. Put a small bead of sealant around the hole on both sides and then install the drain tube. The plastic tube fills a 1"" hole and it takes a 3/4"" hub. You can flare the end of a brass tube with a ball pine hammer. Cut the tube to length, heat the end to be flared to make it more malleable, place a heavy weight against the flared end and gently tap the unflared end to curl the metal back.

Q: null I m replaced a transom in an aluminum boat and would like to replace the motorwell drains. I'm assuming the 1"" diameter is the bushing OD that can be seen on the ends of both pieces such that this will fill my 1"" hole and not be sloppy? Does the 3/4"" dimension refer to the ID? Is this threaded or are those ridges that snap these two pieces together? Can this be trimmed if the transom at the motorwell is just under 2"" thick? Cheers! Nic

A: I do not remember about the dimensions but it is threaded..
