Product Details

Philippine Mahogany wood bungs and plugs have been used on boat hulls and decks for many years. These chamfered wood plugs are perfect for when the finished appearance is important. Very dark in color

I ordered eight hundred of these Philippine mahogany bungs. They were very dark and did not match the Philippine mahogany on my project. Jamestown did take back the unused bungs.

Work well

Restoring brightwork on early Seasprite 23. Had to remove some bungs to remove brightwork. These fit the resulting holes and matched the mahogany faily well.

Q: null What is the depth of the bungs? As in the 1/2"" diameter bungs are how long?

1 Answer

A: Sorry, I don't have that information. Plug cutters typically fit standard dimensions based on the diameter. If the screw is countersunk properly the matching bung diameter will be the right length. The bung is slightly longer than necessary and must be sanded down flush.

Q: null what does 12M 1/2 inch means ?

A: The __quote__12M__quote__ is the end of that bung's item number, __quote__BUNG12M__quote__. The __quote__12__quote__ identifies it as a 1/2 inch (in diameter) bung. The __quote__M__quote__ identifies it as a mahogany bung. The item number is followed by, and effectively translates the __quote__12__quote__ into 1/2 in so that we customers need not become schooled in JD's inventory tracking system. You will note that the quarter-inch bung appears as __quote__BUNG14 1/4 in__quote__, for example.
