Product Details

MAS Epoxy medium hardener is a polyamine blend intended for moderate activity and resistance to blushing. Moderate pot life gel and thin film set times provide advantages when filleting and fairing.

MAS Epoxy Medium mixes with thickeners, gel and sets quickly enough to avoid draining and sagging, while still allowing ample flow time for controlled application periods.

This hardener is a good choice when overnight sandability is more important than continuous laminating and open time. Won't 'milk out' during application or fog up in critical clear coating applications.

Available in Pint, Quart, Half Gallon, Gallon, 4 Gallon, and 5 Gallon sizes.

    MAS Epoxy

I'm now working on building my fourth boat using MAS epoxy. The two CLC kayaks from 2000 are still going strong and the Beachpea I just finished looks and sails great. I used the MAS on a set of 8' Pete Culler oars as well as using it to repair my 60 year old Thistle. I've never had an epoxy joint fail.

A: Hey Tabatha! A lot of folks use UV resin for tiny crafts like keychains. If you want something a little more versatile and stronger, TotalBoat High Performance resin is great for that.

Q: Would this product work well to fill cracks in wood turned objects?

    5 Answers

A: It can be used to fill cracks once you have finished turning the item. I would use the MAS FLAG resin with the medium hardener and thicken further with fine sawdust from the item turned. The thickness of the epoxy mix would depend on the size of the cracks.

Q: I used MAS epoxy to fiberglass a cedar strip kayak. After 10 years I have small spider cracks all over the top that go right through the fiberglass -- Anyone know why?

    1 Answer

A: I believe the tensile strength of the product may be subject to cracks as a result of the expansion and contraction of the wood through the seasons, especially if the craft has a little fiberglass membrane to keep it rigid...such as matting. I love this MAS product and have spent several thousand dollars on MAS products because of the excellent results I have had. 10 years is not to shabby in my opinion.

Q: hello I was wondering if the slow epoxy can work with the medium hardner?

    1 Answer

A: I'm not sure what you mean by slow epoxy..Do you mean low viscosity? If you mean MAS low viscosity, yes it will work.. < a href=__quote__http://www.jamestowndistributors.com/userportal/show_product.do?pid=3440&familyName=MAS+Low+Viscosity+Epoxy+Resin__quote__ target=__quote___blank__quote__>http://www.jamestowndistributors.com/userportal/show_product.do?pid=3440&familyName=MAS+Low+Viscosity+Epoxy+Resin< /a>
