A: Pettit 97 epoxy thinner is your best substitute, or you could use Interlux 2333.

Q: null Is 2316n the same as styrene thinner to be used with gelcoat?

A: Two part polyurethanes and gel coat are different chemically so I do not think you should chance a possible negative result. Styrene is an activator for gel coat 2316 is a thinner for a paint that is already activated but needs thinning to spray. 2333n is I remember is for brushing to slow the dry and allow brush strokes to melt away. I hope this helps.
