Nice piece of hardware

I use these as tie-down points on deck for my canvas. Conveniently out of the way when not in use. Strong enough to keep the canvas in place even in windy weather.

Q: null What weight are the rings rated to handle?

A: We used this ring for a lightweight application on a small hatch door. It should probably not be used on a door larger than 1' x 2'.

Q: null what type of hole is needed and how deep ? or is it mortise and also how deep . thanks

A: Due to a mistake on my part in shipping information, they were shipped today so I haven't actualy seen them. I have used this type of ring pull other times and they usually require a circular hole the diameter of the recessed portion (half round) and then the flange covers over on the surface. The hole can usually be made with a speed (spade) bit. Years ago we used a brace and bit with a little elbow grease. You can also mortise the entire ring pull if you like to make the flange flush with the surface. That will then take two different size bits. Drill the larger one first and then the smaller one keeping the centers in line. Good Luck!
