Product Details
Long Taper Point Drill Bits are made of High Speed Steel to hold their sharp cutting edges longer. Fuller general purpose Taper Point bits are recommended for most jobs whether in a drill press or in handheld equipment. They cut well in both hard and softwoods. Long length drills are designed for greater reach and drilling thicker materials. Available in all standard fractional sizes. These drills cut wood and plastics in one operation for the thread and shank of wood screws.

I am building deck furniture. These longer bits allow me certain design options. I could not find the longer bits except here at Jamestown Distrb. Good selection of quality tools.

Good quality of hard to find drill bits

We purchased 1/8"" and 11/64"" diameters of these long length taper point drills. They are used in our production woodshop for pre-drilling for #8 and #10 stainless steel screws. I was a bit nervous prior to purchase on the 1/8"" bits. No one else carries them and I wondered if they would break very easily. They don't and we feel they are high quality drill bits. The sizing chart recommends larger drill bit sizes. We did find the 1/8"" are too small for #8 screws in hardwoods, especially. The 11/64"" are perfect for us for the #10s.
