Great product

We use this in home construction. It bonds wood to wood and remains flexible. We use it mainly as a sealant.

Q: Oh, I want a sealant to temporarily seal chain plates and apply where chain plates and covers meet and then want to be able to service these later this year. I certainly don't want a strong adhesive.or a silicone — so would it 201 work ? Or come to think of it, is there any polysulfide caulk available ??

A: Don't know. I have used it extensively on my log home, and it is tough as nails and flexible enough to match the log movement without breaking the seal. Very durable...after 10 years, could barely remove it to re-caulk when I re-surfaced the house. Whether it works on your cab glass...I don't know. Hope this was helpful.

Q: we own a 2004 RV that has a fiberglass roof. We need to seal the seam around the top of the RV. What type of Sikaflex do we need and about how much. The RV is 38 foot long and 8 1/2 feet wide. The surface is flat and it's just where the fiberglass meets the crown-round part of the RV before the fiberglass was put on the roof. We now live in NC if that makes a diff.??

A: The Sikaflex 201 is a good general purpose sealant that should work well. a 10.3 oz tube will do 24 lineal feet at 1/4__quote__ bead.

Q: Can this product be used to mount a few solarpanels using glue mounts on a slightly pitched roof on asphalt shingles? I t seems like this product might work. I don't like the idea of drilling holes in the roof for four solar panels.

A: I have a log home and I use Sikaflex for caulking between the logs and for filling the checks in the logs. I love this stuff and I buy it by the case -- however it will not adhere to wet wood and i would not trust it for stress adhesion such as your panels. I have installed solar panels on a home I owned in Florida -- the panels were 4 x 8 and mounted with six brackets that were attached to the roof with lag bolts. Once the holes are drilled in the roof they were filled and covered with silicone adhesive, the panels mounted, lag bolts installed, and them the brackets/bolt heads were coated with the silicone adhesive. Sikaflex would work for that. Hope that helps. Keith
