Product Details

303 Aerospace UV Protectant protects and restores vinyl, gel-coat, fiberglass, rubber, plastics, and leather. Originally engineered for aerospace and aviation applications, this is the world's highest rated UV-screening product.

In addition to complete protection from UV-induced color fading, 303 Protectant restores lost color and luster on items that have already faded. It's not oily or greasy, so it won't discolor or stain. Prevents dust, soiling and staining on all kinds of surfaces. For use in automotive, marine, RV applications, and even pools. Available in 16 oz spray, or gallon.

Info & Guides
303 Protectant provides excellent sunblock to treated surfaces. It is an improvement over Silicone based products that prevent glue from adhering and can cause future repair failure. Aerospace Protectant filters ultraviolet rays while allowing glue to adhere to previously treated fabric.

Results as big as it's price

After researching this gallon size, Jamestown Distributors has best price for this item. I have been using this for years and use it for so many applications that the gallon size is the most practical size for me. I saw this product being used at the EAA (Experimental Aircraft Association) meet in Oshkosh, Wisconsin years ago. There I met an EAA member polishing an immaculate home built Burt Rutan design airplane. I asked him what he was spraying on the wings and lightly polishing. He replied it was 303 Aerospace UV Protectant. This endorsement hooked me on the product. I use it on any equipment that needs UV protection with a shine.

Best price Icould fin on the internet

Best product on the market for tire protection from UV Rays that dry out and cause cracks in your tires. Was developed for the airlines to add life to their tires which take a beating upon landing. Also, I was surprised to find that it can be used for interior fabrics, leather seats and interior trim as well as outside rubber linings around doors etc. And can be used on exterior plastic bumpers and trim. I recommend it to everyone since I live in Palm Springs CA where the temps run up to 115 degrees in the summer. Jack

The best protectant out there

I have used this for many years primarily at the start of the season, get all the seats as clean as possible and apply this product, it makes future cleanings easier and provides a nice sheen without looking greasy. Buying it in quart spray bottles is a waste in every sense of the word, for the price of roughly two off the shelf bottles you can get the gallon.

Effective UV protector

I have been using 303 for about 10 years. I had been warned away from that famous stuff in the yellow bottle you get at auto parts stores. I don't know what STP puts in their product, but it's amazing how many times I've been told ""don't use it,"" or, ""it does more harm than good."" Not sure if I believe that, but I've been warned off of it so many times by so many disparate dealers I figured there must be something to it. A Spa dealer referred me to a marine store, which was how I originally discovered this. When I bought a replacement cover for my spa, I was asked what I use for UV protection, and I could tell the lecture was coming until I mentioned 303. I use this mainly on our spa cover and Tropitone sling chairs on our deck. We get southern exposure (mid Atlantic) and the UV is very destructive. Our deck chairs look new (we cover them in the winter, but still...), and I know I got an extra year out of our spa cover which I started 3 years into it's life (my spa covers ususally have given up the ghost after 5 years). Our replacement cover is already 4 years old and showing no significant signs of aging. Typically, I use diluted Simple Green and a stiff bristle brush to clean it, and then hose it off. Then spray on the 303 and wipe off the exceess. That works well, but it can dry quckly, so you have to act fast. Depending on where you get 303, it can cost a dollar an ounce, so a bulk 1 gallon container is much more economical, and I reuse one of my old spray bottles. I think if I had something large like a boat cover I would get one of those ag sprayers like you see at the hardware store. They are portable, you pump up the air pressure inside, and then just use the trigger and adjust the spray. Using a 16 oz finger squeeze bottle would be very tiring. If there are any first timers reading this, it's a tried and true product for me. As for using Jamestown, this was my first time. I have to admit I'm impressed. Pricing was way better than my other choices, the order was handled promptly, shipping was fast, packaging was excellent, communications were excellent, and this web site is among the best I've encountered (admittedly, I'm not buying a broad variety of products here). The whole process inspired confidence. Almost makes me wish I had a boat, just so I could buy more stuff from these guys.

Helps protect

We have used this on our popup camper for several years. The camper is now 18 years old and the outer surface looks brand new. It is not faded like other campers we see in campgrounds. It also makes it much easier to clean. So glad we started using this when we did. My husband uses it on his tonneau cover and it has kept it from fading as well. It keeps the material from getting dry and cracked as well. Now we use it on resin/plastic outdoor furniture. It makes the old pieces look revitalized. We have friends in Arizona that we bought some for to help make their outdoor furniture last longer. We will see if it works as well for them.

Throw away the amorall and get 303.

The only problem with 303 is that its hard to find buy I bought a gallon of it this time! Not going to find it locally but maybe in a Marine Shop. Just get it from Jamestown.

Protection is the Name of the Game

Some may think this is a cleaner but it is not at all. Think of this as a wax for rubber and similar material. Also works well on many other surfaces as one could say it is like using sun tan lotion on your plastic, vinyl rubber, etc!

Best product and best price

There are few products better than 303. Actually, none that I know of. I use this on everything vinyl, including eisinglass, where I was dazzled by the result. On six year old neglected eisinglass, it made a huge improvement. I'd say it made it look virtually brand new, and it started as scratched up, stained and old.

Q: Is it safe for RV graphics?

A: Ron I am not sure about graphics but I can say on vinyl upholstery there is no better product. Our boat is now 11 years old and we have used 303 every season. Our seats still look and feel like they did on day one.

A: It is not meant to be used on paint or glass. You can use it on vinyl, rubber, plastic or boat covers to protect from sun damage.

Q: I am thinking of using this on artwork (ceramics) to protect fluorescent colors that UV rays are fading out in a very short time, especially reds. Any experience in using 303 in this way?

A: None but the product is unbelievable when it comes to Vinyl. I would recommend this hands down for boat upholstery.

Q: I have vinyl upholstery in my boat that invariably picks up mildew during off season storage. This cleans off with various detergent/bleach mixtures except for a noticeable, diffuse darkening in the __quote__pores__quote__ of the vinyl. Does 303 remove such residue?

4 Answers

A: Not that I know of. I use 303 as the last step after cleaning. I would highly recommend 303 as a UV protectant, but I do not believe it is a cleaner. You might try one of the many marine vinyl cleaners, however, getting mildew out of pores in vinyl is difficult.

Q: I've seen reference to use on finished wood. I am wondering if I can use it on the deck and hull of a skin on frame kayak with a spar varnish finish? Any thoughts?

A: I have never tried that! I'm sure it would not hurt it but I'm not sure how much good it would do. The primary use is for fiberglass and rubber products. Almost like putting on sun screen. You would most likely have better results with a good wax or polymer sealer, something with more body to it.
