Product Details
Sherwood impellers fit a variety of pumps in marine applications, including marine engine water pumps and bilge pumps. It is common practice to inspect and replace flexible impellers annually as preventative maintenance against pump failure. Spare water pump impellers for the engine coolant system should be kept on board.
Sherwood recommends neoprene impellers for engine cooling pumps and nitrile for bilge pumps or transfer duties where water is heavily contaminated with oil or diesel. (Part numbers ending in K designate impeller kits which include impeller, gasket and o-ring.)

It's a pump impeller all I can say is it was a great match it fit good and came with all the gadgets. The gaskets could of been higher quality but they worked and I'm very satisfied

The engine is a 283 Chevy. There are 4 hoses going to the pump. You take off the cover and you see one impeller. But behind that is a metal plate which comes right out, and a second impeller. Don't miss the second impeller!

Part came in wrong size. I can't really say that if it was your or my fault. The price would of been fair but after shipping.... it about the same as just going to pick up from a shop. I just hate to run around to do so. Anyway I have a part I can't use and now it's going to cost me twice as much and take more time.

The right impeller for my engine at a reasonable price

Well, there is not a lot to say - this is a Sherwood impeller for a Sherwood water pump. In the 5 years I've had my Catalina 27, I've been using the Sherwood impellers exclusively and they have performed well and have given good life. They come with the necessary gasket. I have started the practice of removing the impleller during the winter lay-up which I think contributes to longer life.

Q: Witch way should the vanes be pointing when the impeller is inserted into the pump housing.

A: Ideally they should be pointing opposite of the direction of rotation of the pump. However, even if this is not accomplished, they will reorient themselves once the pump is placed into operation so it is not critical.

Q: What impeller does the DO-5 take? Don't you have a compatibility chart instead of having to take the pump apart and measure? Thanks!

A: My suggestion is that you remove your current impeller and count the number of vanes, measure the overall diameter, shaft diameter and thickness. My engine was manufactured with several different water pumps and that was the only way to make sure you order the correct impeller.

Q: Hello, Ok I have a 1940 Chris Craft with a Sherwood Brass Wks. Pump. It has a 1/2"" Shaft, Impeller Dia. is 2.23 (2-1/4""?) and is 1.26 (1-1/4""?) Thick. I can't find one that size on your site. On the slotted drive end it has a #M10262G? or 6 Not sure. it uses a thin gasket for the cover. Sure need one. Thanks Flip

Q: I have a 1987 Shamrock open fisherman, powered by a 4 cylinder Pleasurecraft Marine engine, model PXLTWR 10. This is a Mitsubishi 4G54. It has a Sherwood raw sweater pump. The only marking on it is Lsi. I need an impeller. The old one is 2 9/16"" diameter, 1 5/16"" height on a 5/8"" shaft. Do you have anything for this?

Q: I just bought a boat with twin 3208's with Sherwood raw water pumps that I ant read the numbers on. I think the pump is a p176x but not sure can you tell and reply with the impellers that I need. thank You Tom
