Product Details

Teleflex QC Replacement Steering Cable Assemblies are a direct Replacement for newer Teleflex SSC137 (used in Safe-T QC & NFB Systems) and SSC72 (used in Safe-T TS & Big-T Systems) and fit most Teleflex rotary helms made after 1995. QC cables feature the patented Quick Connect cable hook-ups, making installation an easy task. These cables can be used on boats with inboards, outboards & stern drives, with single or twin motors.

This is the new version of the popular QC steering cable. The earlier version is being phased out. Many sizes are now no longer available in the old version.

NOTE: Helms manufactured BEFORE 1995 will need a quick-connect adapter (TEL-SA27620P) which is sold separately.

Great Experience

With an old boat and out of date parts there is always a sense of uncertainty. Am I getting the right part? Will it fit? Jamestown Distributors removed this feeling with their open communication tools and super fast response. My questions were answered and I bought the part with confidence. I installed this steering cable along with the necessary adapter and I am up and running again! Thank you!

Installed a new steering cable on my 1988 Pro-Line 22' center console. The installation was easy and the steering is working great. I estimated it took about an hour to replace the cable from disconnect to hook-up.

Q: typed in quick connect part # got no results i have an 87 Morse cable i took of

A: I'm not sure exactly what you are asking..... I ordered this same cable to replace my OEM cab on a 14' Tracker boat. This cable does not have the rack and pinion plate that connects to the steering shaft. I was unable to use this cable without having the rack and pinion plate, so I returned it for the cable which had the rack already connected. You can buy the cable in several variations of what's included. I'm not sure you could take apart your old cable and connect the new cable to the steering plate. I wasn't going to try it..... Either way, I bought the full assembly cable for ~ $70 dollars more and replaced the whole thing. It was pretty straightforward and worked great. Word of advice, measure the cable twice to be sure of the length and lay out the new cable next to the old cable before you start. Sucks to find out at that time if you have the wrong length. It happened to a friend of mine. LOL Good luck
