I replace 4 of these in my cockpit in Dec 2010. Already they have cracks and leaks. Not good quality. CW

Locking plates much easier to use that screw style. Just make sure other users understand importance of unlocking before ""prying"" on tab to open access plate.

I replcaed my old screw out plates with these. Now I check inside all the time. Much, much better than old style. Worth the extra money, for sure. Feel heavier and better made than last set. Go for it.

Q: I suspect that this is the 8__quote__ deck plate in a recently obtained Escape Captiva sailboat. Is the outside diameter of the mounting flange 11-3/16__quote__? Is the mounting hole circle 10-1/4__quote__? Bob

A: No. The plates I have are roughly 10 1/2__quote__ outside, 8 1/2__quote__ inside.

Q: need dimensions for this deckplate?? Is the 10__quote__ for the OD or ID? What is the largest diameter hole it will cover? Thanks, Chris

1 Answer

A: i am returning it as it doe snot fit what I need. Jamestown needs to put full information about the item. I have viking ptl8 whick is also 8__quote__ internally, but the viking seal is wider, making the cutout hole 9.3/4, while bomar is 8 3/4. Outside diameter in viking is 11 1/4 and in bomar I did not measure it.

Q: Still confused regarding dimensions. Does the 8__quote__ refer to the inner or outer ring?
