Rule High Water Bilge Alarm

A High Water bilge pump alarm consists of a Rule Rule-A-Matic automatic float switch and an in-dash gauge that features both a visual and an audible 85 db alarm. This unit allows an unmanned compartment to be constantly monitored. For additional compartments add additional float switches. Complies with CFR 182.530 which requires a visual and audible alarm in each unmanned space on commercial vessels at least 26 feet in length.

Any boat with an electric bilge pump should also be equipped with a bilge alarm. An alarm will let you know when the pump is activated by rising bilge water levels, and can alert crew members to something as benign as a leaking exhaust hose or to more serious situations where seawater is rapidly filling the bilge.
