Product Details

Groco Replacement Poly Raw Water Strainer Baskets are made of corrosion-resistant polyethylene and have an improved handle design for easier use. Designed to fit a range of pipe sizes, these spare poly baskets measure between 5.2 and 18.3 inches in length, and from 1.9 to 3.1 inches in diameter.

Consult the chart below to determine the right basket to match your Groco ARG, SA, VD, or 932-series strainer.

Also available are Groco stainless steel and monel replacement strainer baskets, sold separately.

Replacemnt part. These work well. Only drawback is a plastic handle that can break if basket is left in the intake too long so becomes difficult to pull out. Regular more frequent changes may be required to avoid this.

The only problem is that the top plastic loop is too high - making it difficult to start the strainer cap straight. Easy fix was to simply push the loop down into the strainer.

Q: null Is Polyethylene plastic better for barnacle protection or it stainless steel or Monel?

A: Barnacles clean off plastic basket a lot easier. The Plastic handle breaks easily Stainless is much more durable but I would recommend the plastic one just buy two and alternate at every cleaning

A: check your strainer size and type on the housing. stamped on the body. then check it against the groco parts book you may find the numbers may not match. just make sure the measurments are the same and the material is the same.

A: Yes the plastic ones don't last long especially if you get barnicals get the stainless.

Q: null I have a Groco SS 76-C #304 raw water strainer. I'm looking to replace it with a plastic one. I see it but it says for a 1 1/2 inch pipe. The outside of my filter measures 2-1/2quote x 7 1/2quote. Not sure about the size pipe? I have as boat is not here. Thanks for input.
