Collinite 900 Mold Release Paste is designed for normal hand lay-up and spray-up molding in the manufacture of fiberglass boats. Paste has an easy hand application and removal. Releasing properties have been tested and approved in several different applications such as filled or unfilled molds and with or without gel coat.

Q: null The Collinite Mold Release No. 900 worked great. What are your recommendations on removing the wax residue from the finished part? Mineral spirits or acetone scrubbing and then a light sanding?

A: Hi Bill, I have no direct experience using mold release; I only design molds, though I've bought some products from Jamestown several years ago. My only recollection is that it was spec'd out by a fabricator we had contracted. I'm not sure what they used to remove residue. Another excellent fabricator we've used for composites is Moore Brothers in Bristol, RI and in MA. You might want to contact them. Cheers, -John

A: Apply, rub it off, wait 5 minutes, do it twice more.
