excellent product for teak decks

following the directions is important to allow an easier scrubbing. In a few minutes the powder mixture will lift the dirt and mildew so scrubbing with a medium , usually red, takes less effort. The teaks look new after cleaning. We usually have to scrub the decks twice a year.

Used on badly weathered deck. Result was nice, smooth, natural look. Not overly bleached look from two part systems. More scrubbing required becasue product has no strong chemicals, but clean-up easier and no need to be fussy about where the wash splashes. Three of us did 54 foot boat in about 4 hours. Only took one application. Easy to see where grey and dirty areas remained as we worked down the deck. We shook the powder onto the wet deck directly. Would never consider using a two part system again.

Q: What is the eco-300 powder to water ratio? A 2 lb bottle of powder makes how much liquid?

A: It's a 4 oz per gallon mix and on the container label it states the contents makes 5 Gallons.  I have had a better cleaning by drilling small holes in the top and sprinkling the contents on to the wet teak.  Then scrub it in across grain. Wait 10-15 minutes and scrub again. Wait another 10-15 minutes and hose off the teak.  Just don't let the solution dry on the deck.  Use a light mist spray to keep the teak wet but keep it very light so the solution is not washed away.  I will keep a gallon with mixed solution to rinse the scrubber as I go.

Q: My boat is moored in salt water, and I have no ready access to fresh rinse water, although I can mix initially the product with fresh tank water for application. Is a salt rinse any problem?

I let the product work for 2-5 minutes then I brush side way from the grain of the wood. rince with water (a lot) dont let the product dry on the teack. Q: I have a long dining room table that is made of teak wood. It came from Denmark and is quite old. My question is...what kind of cleaning agent do I use on it to make it look like new teak wood (like the leaves of the table). I have used teak oil for years to maintain it but it actually needs a good clean and I would also like to get the scratches, water stains...out. What would be a good cleaning/protecting agent to use?

A: This powder worked good for me. Scrub w/soft brush across the grain not w/the grain. Problem with the oil is it darkens with age and it catches dirt and smears anything that rubs it into the finish. The two part teak cleaners work good but they do remove fine layers of wood. For something that has been indoors, should not be a problem. I have used every finish I know of. After the teak is clean, because it is indoors and a table, might try a high quality varnish or even a urethane on it. Would have to spray it to make it look good unlees you wet/dry sand w/600-2000 grit afterwards. Just my opinion for what it's worth.......
