Stainless steel heavy duty hex nuts are marine grade fasteners commonly used (in marine applications) with stainless carriage bolts or hex caps.

Remember though that Stainless Steel will sometimes seize or gall when tightened under load, especially with larger sized fasteners. To prevent this apply a little Never-Seize or Anti-seizing compound
