fantastic product

I am prepping my '72 Formula 233c for a new paint job. Although the hull is in fantastic condition, I did have a number of shallow scratches and pin holes. This stuff works great at easily filling those in. I used a cheap flat edge putty knife to spread the material over the blemish and flatten it out. Once it dries it sands right out. The consistency is just right where it is soft and very pliable yet it sticks where you want and doesn't run or drip.

Great for smaller defects

Used to fill in extensive pole rash scratches on hull. Blends butifully with my white hull. Fills voids in gell coat in cockpit. May need a few applicatios to fill deeper cuts. Easy to sand out. After 3 years, still perfect. Excellent stuff!

Awesome Product!!

This product is great. I started a boat repaint project and started with Evercoat and it sets up way to fast. This product gives you up to 10 minutes depending on the climate. This is a one part product so just squeeze the tube and start fairing... I wish I would have used 3M first on my project.

Excellent for minor to moderate scratchs
Beats bondo cream scratch filler by a long shot. We use this product in our bathtub preparation before reglazing. For minor to moderate cuts and gouges it works great. Do not try to use it for deep holes or cuts. Surface dries but won't completely dry in filled holes more than 1/8 of an inch deep. Sands very well and smoothes out nicely. Easy to spread. Larger tube than I thought so that was a nice surprise. This has been recommended to the PBRA members. (Professional Bathtub Refinishers Assoc.)

Q: null can this product be used on painted surfaces?

A: Thank you for your question. The 3M Acrylic Marine Putty is an excellent medium duty fairing putty. It is excellent for fairing surface imperfections such as chipped paint, dings and depressions on the hull. It can be applied to a previously painted surface but you MUST be sanded and roughed up so that the filler will adhere
