Product Details

Rule-Mate automatic pumps are available in 500, 800, and 1100 GPH (gallons per hour) capacities. These quiet and compact bilge pumps activate when the water level is 2-1/8".

The pump and solid state water sensing switch are in a single, compact housing. The sophisticated switch senses the dielectric properties of water but will not pump oil. Unlike standard computerized automatic pumps, there's no on/off cycling so no power is used until the pump comes on. A detachable strainer makes clearing debris quick and easy with easy access to the impeller area.

These 500, 800, and 1100 GPH pumps are available in 12V or 24V models.

Q: RM750 cannot get the automatic function to work. What all do I need to try? Manual works fine. What triggers the automatic function? Filled the compartment with water over the pump and no reaction. Bill

A: You have a defective pump. Once the water gets high-enough it auto kicks on. There must be plenty water in bilge before it starts to pump out, other than that replace pump. John

Q: Has anyone else had problems with the automatic switch on these pumps? Mine simply does not always turn off. I can hear it running, and the water in the bilge is maybe 1/4__quote__ deep.

A: The automatic feature on the one I purchased does not work either. Replaced the old one and assumed the auto function worked. About a week later, 12 miles offshore in rough seas, I look down at the back deck and notice water splashing my shoes. Needless to say the auto function failed. Luckily when I hit the bilge switch it came on. Will be replacing it with one that has a separate float switch.

Q: How can I hook the 750PH unit up so I can run it both manually and automatic?

A: Get a 3 position toggle switch and connect the wires from the pump to the terminals on the switch. Center position of the switch will be off. Up (depending on how you orient the switch) will be manual and down will be auto function.

Q: why do pump instructions say do not use an inline check value ?

1 Answer

A: they could stick or get obstructed with debris causing them to fail. If you feel you need a check valve because of the constant running of your bilge you may want to address the real reason the bilge is running.

Q: How high water must be before it gets detected? once it gets detected how long it runs before it stops?

A: Pump goes until the water falls below a critical level which is much less than the height of the pump. No preset time. Why not use a purpose designed basement sump pump? Same effect, no power issues.

Q: I Bought a Rule 750 GPH Automatic Bilge Pump. I want to only have it wired for unattended automatic use. My intent is to wire it directly to the battery with a fuse for the pump really close to the battery. I do not want to use it with a manual switch, and this automatic pump has its own internal sensing switch function without moving parts. Here's the main question; How should the 3 wires be wired ? The 3 wires are Brown, Black, and Brown w/ White stripe. Please advise, Thanks, WT

A: Black - Negative Battery Ground Brown - Positive Battery Brown/White - Optional Manual Switch (you can skip but tape off for safety)
