Product Details

Tessilmare rub rail kits are easy to install on just about any boat. Their no-heating required cold fitting design with easy to bend material saves time and results in a seamless, finished look without the hassle of traditional rub rail installs. Choose black or white in a wide range of pre-cut sizes (3 widths and 3 lengths).

Simply install the track on the hull using standard self-tapping screws (sold separately). Once the track is properly fitted, the rubber profile snaps into place on the track. Tessilmare kits are easier to install than the competition, last longer, and simply look neater than conventional multi-piece rub rails and hull guards.

Good product and easy to install.

FOR THE MONEY THEY CHARGE FOR PRESSED PLASTIC, THEY SHOULD THROW IN SOME POLISHED PRESSED STAINLESS END CAPS. THEY WOULD COST THE MFGR ABOUT 5 BUCKS. IT'S A PRETTY FAIR DEAL FOR THE MONEY, BUT IT NEEDS STAINLESS END CAPS.

Even a husband and wife can install without arguing!

Do not pay someone to install this for you. My husband and I installed it in 2 1/2 hours without any problems. I suggest using screws and lock nuts, not rivets. What a great upgrade to our boat, looks awesome!

Easy to install, easy to reinstall, which is often.

Easiest to install but because of the design, it's also very easy to pull apart and damage. Especially on a small boat that bobs around at the dock. Any vertical swipe will pull the soft bumper off the semi-rigid frame. Good news is, it's really easy to put back on. Takes direct horizontal bumps without a problem.

Quick and easy to install

Used on small 13' 1966 Boston Whaler. Drill pilot hole in track only to get better screw bite into the boat. Countersink track so the screw head sits flush with the track. This will eliminate screw bumps in the rub rail. I spaced my screws 6"" apart using about 90 #8 x 3/4"" SS screws. Use very low heat from a hairdryer to relieve track tension around corners, too much heat will ruin the track. One person install took about 2 hrs.

Professional product!

I installed a Taco rub rail the first time I replaced my rub rail. That one lasted about 5 years. It never really looked that good, not even from the start. It served the purpose. I thought this season I would spiff up the boat and I opted for including a new rub rail. I did some online research and came across this Tessilmare. I viewed as many you tube videos I could and read all the reviews. I can't say enough about this product. Installed easily, by myself! Yes a heat gun is a good idea for the bow and transom bends. Use the gun and get professional results. Best 200 bucks I have spent on the boat in a long time!

Good looking and easy install

I have a home-made boat with oak rails and wanted something ""trimmy"" to protect them at the docks. This product looks like it was designed for my boat, the rubber sits flush with the rail and makes for a very clean appearance. It protects as you would expect. Very easy installation and made the bow turn without a wrinkle. I sawed the guides into smaller pieces to make curves, as the rubber is many times more flexible than the guides. It comes with a picture to guide installation which is all you need. The guides go on with simple screws and I put some non-adhesive calk on for good measure. I didn't bother with the cheap end caps, as it looks fine without them. Rubber cuts to length with a knife cleanly.

Professional looking finish

It's a two person job and some heating may be required on very acute angles, with some planning you'll end up with a professional looking finish.

The kit would be even better if it came complete with all the hardware. The endcaps are cheap and NOT of the same quality as the rest of the kit

Absolute great choice!!

very easy to install and looks great on my boat. This cold way of mounting is the best!! I mounted another replacement rub rail on an old boat a few years ago and that was a seriously difficult job, rail had to be heated, was difficult to bend and some imperfections remained... I can truely recommend this Tessilmare product to all of you.

Q: I have white Tessilmare rub rails that are now about 4 years old. They have turned nearly black. I have tried every cleaner/acid/solvent available without improvement. Any suggestions other than sanding them?

2 Answers

A: It depends on what is causing it to turn black. Material such as tar that has been rubbed onto the surface typically need something like mineral spirits. If it's environmental contamination, such as mold, diluted bleach may help. Marykate inflateable boat cleaner may work but it's more of a preventative measure to guard against staining. It's a long shot but a boat dealership I used to work for used Avon Skin so Soft to clean road contamination from rubrails on new boats. It worked well for that but the material was a bit more rigid than Tessilmare.

Q: I'm interested in the MCO-T130-140-115-W1 - 2-1/8 in white, but I need 3 more feet. Can I buy 2 shorter kids to complete the 75' 4"" I need for my boat?

A: Yes you can do that. Tessilmare does offer a joiner piece to hide the joint.

Q: Will the Tessilmare radical flexible rubrail kit fit on a 1972 Crown Sailboat built in Canada. it has a vertical edge as decribed in your product list, and what diameter do i need?

1 Answer

A: Sorry, I have no way to fit the rub rails by boat model. The diameter will be determined by the vertical dimension required. There are dimensional drawings listed under the data sheets tab. Those should help.

Q: Hello Looking at this Radial Rub Rail system , My boat ( 21') had a wide 1-1/2 wide rub rail on it so your 1-5/8 rail would be my choice, But I would have a lot of waste with your listed 52' kit, plus the extra cost. Questions .... Can I buy it by the foot ? At what lengths would the base pieces come in ? Cost for 42 ft in black needed ?

1 Answer

A: Just bite the bullet and get the 52 ft kit.. So you will have a few feet left over for you next boat.
