Product Details

#10-24 Pan head phillips drive machine screws. Stainless steel machine screws provide excellent corrosion resistance and are the work horse for modern boatbuilding or exterior woodworking applications. Sold in boxes of 100. Pan head means flat top with smooth rounded sides to provide flat bearing surface under the head to allow for lateral movement (as opposed to a Flat or Oval Head screw that has a countersunk bearing surface that will self-center in the mounting holes).

These Stainless Steel Machine Screws are perfect for the marine environment. There are also a million other interior and exterior uses where a stainless fastener will come in handy. Designed for harsh environments.

Q: null I'm looking for SS machine screws 1/4 NC x 3/4 to fit the supports for my Bimini top. They appear to be a special bolt as the shank is only threaded for about 1/4"".

A: Yes I can help. These screws are made for Bimini tops that fold. The long shoulder is for where it goes through the mount where you don't need threads. They are usually sold near the other top parts in boat stores. Hope this helps, over the years I have bought a lot of them since they seem to be attracted to water because that's where they end up when dropped.

Q: null I bought a 0 foot jon boat and it has about 10 leaky rivets.I was told that if i drill them out and then use these screws and some 3m 5200 marine sealant it would fix thew problem.IS this true?

A: zThe screws (with the proper nuts) and sealant should work. However, it will be much easier to replace the rivets with new ones, using 2-part epoxy as a sealant. Do a google search 'leaky rivet on jon boat__quote__ for more details. This should be a very easy fix, I think.

A: Regardless of the S/S grade, make sure to use a compound like TefGel to prevent the two metals from touching (as this leads to corrosion).
