Info & Guides

Quality, Time, and Price

QUALITY, TIME AND PRICE are always significant factors in any purchase. JD QUALITY is second to none. JD PRICES are extremely competitive, but can be ""BEAT."" But the TIME required to search a hundred retailers to save a few pennies will just ""BEAT"" you up ... so why bother?

I bought these stainless steel hex nuts because the ones i was using from my local hardware store were zinc and not rust proof. My original bracelet that I made from the zinc hex nuts was brought about by my motorcycle riding and wanting a bracelet that looked like the chain on my bike or at least resembling it. After finding out that the zinc will not wear well someone told me that there are stainless steel ones and I went looking for some online and found this site. Compared to other sites the prices were excellent. [...]

I bought these actually to weave together as jewelry. I was mostly concerned with price and look. The price was very good and they look great!

Great nuts. Use them regularly for all applications where the finest nuts should be used.

Q: null What kind of stainless are these? You have a different entry for 216 SS. Thanks Jonathan

A: There is no 216 SS. The nuts are 316 SS.

Q: null These will fit a 1/2 inch threaded rod?
10 years ago5 Answers
A: Threads per inch, standard v vs fine are the key issues. If the rod is threaded in 1/2__quote__ by 13 threads, a common nut of this size will fit. If the rod is threaded with fine threads, an appropriate nut will be required. You could go to a Home Depot or similar store and try a nut on your rod for compatibility, then order from Jamestown the appropriate nut. Stainless 316 is a better choice than SS 304 for saltwater applications (and tend to cost more!).

Q: null How can i make them colored? What kind of paint?

A: Thank you both! I think I'll try with the fingernail polish first because it's easier to find :-)

Q: null I need 100 nuts at 24 threads per inches and the bolt is about 1/8 wide. What size?
13 years ago2 Answers
A: The most likely size is 8-24. They are actually almost 11/64 inch diameter, but it is the smallest screw using 24 threads per inch.
