Product Details
Bomar Access Hatches feature low profiles for floor mounting. Molded high-impact, UV stable polypropylene hatches hide fastening screws from view.
Each hatch opens 180 degrees, and has a strong lid with support bars and a double gasket for optimum sealing. New patented easy opening, easy closing slam latch standard.
Models are available in Stark (bright) White and Off White.

Bad Product

Lousy product. The hatch locks would not secure. Poor construction. JD promptly sent me a replacement, but same issue. I figured out how to modify product to make the locks secure, I hope.

The hatch hinge is made of plastic. Once it gets stressed it lossens up and will pop off if you are trailering the boat and hit a bump.

Q: null Small Bomar Access Hatch (G7912W) - I want to mount it in a near vertical configuration. Would prefer hatch to fold down so latch is on top, hinge on bottom - is the latch secure enough to do this? If not, I can switch orientation to open up but not as handy. Not too concerned about how well it seals, just the latch holding so want to know, not find out the hard way. Thanks.

A: The latches, or locks, for the hatches are included and were already part of the assembly when they arrived. I installed two hatches, one large with two latches and one small with one, using 3M 5200 sealant -- each took about 20 minutes, most of the time needed to clean off the old sealant. The new hatches have solved my problem with old leaking hatches (these were both in the cockpit) but you need to push the lid shut with some force to get the latches to click.
