Easy to use
This is super easy to use, and it really gets the job done. Be careful. I thought I took enough precautions, but I have a bleached out area in my driveway now.

Takes work, but excellent results
This really cleans off old coatings. It does take work, but the results are excellent and it really prepared the teak patio furniture for the Semco Teak Sealer that we applied after the furniture had completely dried. The teak patio furniture was initially improperly sealed by someone else, and we did have a few water stains (from leaving glasses, etc. on the teak table). The 2-stage Semco Teak Cleaner totally removed the water marks and surface dirt. A couple very minor small dark stains remained that were soaked into the wood. I treated those with a very slight amount of bleach on a q-tip. Do thoroughly rinse and brush both stages and keep the wood wet. Brush and rinse well after the second stage to prevent white salt from drying onto the surface of the wood. And do wear good waterproof gloves. The cleaning and sealing was a Mothers Day present for my wife.

The perfect remedy for dirty teak
Semco's teak cleaner has become a trusted refresher for our outdoor teak furniture. While it is a bit labor intensive, it does a great job removing mold, glass stains, food oils, etc. I use it on the dining sets as well as the casual sitting furniture pieces. I finish with a natural toned Semco teak sealer.

Removes Watco Mistake
I have a beautiful teak cockpit in my 46 foot three sport fisherman. I decided to really toilet and gave it multiple coats of Watco teak oil. Big mistake. It turned muddy black brown and I had a hell of a time getting it off. Two or three times I tried TeakA and TeakB. No good. I tried the West Marine products which are basically boric acid. No good. I ordered the Semco two part. It's returning the color to the light golden color I was looking for. I'm going to give it one more cleaning and then toilet with Semco natural. Excited about the way it looks. I cannot help but give this five gold stars. Highly recommend it.

Good products!

We bought the product to clean and preserve the new teak-bench we use in our master bath walk-in shower. So far we've only used the sample teak oil provided by Chic Teak. It works great. We are former boaters so we know how tricky it can be to keep teak looking its best.

My daughter and I just cleaned all the teak furniture with Semco 2 part teak cleaner yesterday. It is amazing, how clean the teak looks now. It was real easy to use. This product was recommended to me and I will recommend it to friends.

Would not buy again - didn't work as expected
6 years ago
This product was used to clean teak outdoor furniture. Part 1 (Caustic solution) did work to remove much of the staining, but did leave quite a bit. Part 2 (phosphoric acid) was not sufficient to remove (neutralize) the caustic, so there were many brown streaks and stains remaining. Difficult to use where there are many slats and spaces on furniture, leaving control of liquid difficult. Equal amounts of parts 1 and 2 didn't work - needed much more of part 2 to finish job.

Q: How much 2 part cleaner would I order to clean 2 teak 4 ft long, heavy porch swing benches with extremely faded orange stain. This faint stain only covers a third to a half of the benches. I used some water and a brass brush until I found your instructions warning against using the brass brush. It actually worked...have I damaged the surface of the wood? Your help is most appreciated! A: As per Semco: A quart of the cleaner covers about 100 sq feet. A quart of the sealer covers about 80 sq. ft.

Q: will this cleaner work well on natural wicker outdoor furniture?
2 years ago2 Answers
A: Hello- I don't see why not. I would use a soft toothbrush for scrubbing (rather than the green scrubber side of a sponge) so the wicker doesn't get damaged/scratched.
