Product Details

WEST SYTEM Six10 epoxy is a thickened adhesive that combines the strength and reliability of a high-strength epoxy with the convenience of a self-metering cartridge design.

Cartridges feature mixing tips that ensure the right ratio of epoxy resin and hardener is automatically mixed upon application. Easy to apply with a standard caulking gun, WEST SYTEM Six10's unique non sagging formula lets this epoxy bond tenaciously to wood, metals, fiberglass, and concrete. This colorless resin and hardener system has a 42 minute working time at 72F. Cure times depend on ambient temperature, but typically cures to a solid state in 5 to 6 hours, reaching full working strength between 1 and 4 days.

Are you working on your boat or project after work or on the weekend? Not having to mix resin and hardener beforehand saves time. Are you working overhead, on vertical surfaces, or tight spaces? This thick adhesive won't cause problems with sagging or runoff.

Available in single or bulk pack (6 cartridges). Additional static mixing tips can be purchased separately.

Info & Guides

Six10 Application & Cure Time Informaiton

Six10 cures in temperatures as low as 50F. Working time is 42 minutes at 72F. It cures to a solid state in 5-6 hours and will take high loads in 24 hours. The cure time is faster at warm temperatures and slower in cool temperatures. The Six10 cartridge holds 190 ml of epoxy resin and hardener.

To use this adhesive, replace the retaining nut and plug on the West System Six10 dispensing cartridge with the 600 Static Mixer that comes attached to the cartridge. Dispense the mixed 2-part epoxy adhesive using a standard caulking gun.

The efficient internal geometry of the 600 Mixer thoroughly blends resin and hardener in a short mixing length for good application control and a minimum of waste. Place high-strength, non-sagging Six10 thickened epoxy exactly where it's needed in less time and with no mess.

Additional 600 Static Mixer nozzles are available in packages of two or twelve.

If you're doing a small job, you don't have to use the static mixer. Simply squeeze out what you'll need (maybe even a little less- you can always mix a little more if short) onto a piece of poster board or plywood and stir thoroughly. The resin and hardener are slightly different colors; use this color difference to gauge the thoroughness of your mix. All should be a consistent color with no streaks.

Misleading description on your website

I thought I was buying Six10 but it turns out your website is very misleading. I ended up getting two nozzles for the cartridge instead of the cartridge of the Six10 epoxy. Check your website.

I used this for a complex furniture glue up. I needed undersized floating tenons as I accidentally cut the mortises offset and didnt have the space/time to refill and cut them correctly. I used this for the tenons and pva for the rest of the joint(s). Worked PERFECTLY.

The absolute best fiberglass repair material on the market

After sustaining F/G damage to my stern rail attachment bases from an impact at launch, it literally took just a few hours from start to finish to affect a structurally sound and cosmetically pleasing repair. Easy to use and strong as the original construction....maybe stronger.

six 10 use

I have a kicker motor attached to my transom for the last 11 years. It was installed by the dealer of the motor and the bracket. I noticed last year i had ants in my boat, only to discover that 2 of the mounting bolts through the transom , leaked. rotting the transom in that area. i removed the wood from the inside up to the fiberglass. replaced with marine plywood, epoxied to the fiberglass. i left a 1/8 to 1/4 border around the patch. Using Six 10 I was able to ""calk"" the border perimeter easily. it worked perfectly using a calk gun. Hardened better than new.

Great epoxy gel worked as I hoped it would

Building shelves in a hanging locker under the chart table . Used the West epoxy gel to help attach the wooden frame to each side where mechanical fasteners are very difficult to install given the 9.5"" opening. The gel seemed into the gaps ultimately becoming hard as a rock securing both sides of the frame inside the locker.

Q: The screws from hinge on the hatch to the helm of our 66' Custom Carolina tore from the floor and we need to fill the holes and re-drill new ones. Do you recommend Six10 for the job? We are concerned about strength of product. Any helpful hints for prepping the area? What temperature range can I use this in? Thanks! Julie

A: You could use Six10 which is a thickened epoxy, when fully cured you can drill and screw into it. Six10 is currently out of stock but you can substitute TotalBoat Thixo which is also a thickened epoxy in a caulking gun. https://www.jamestowndistributors.com/product/product-detail/64347

Q: I am removing trim tabs from the transom of my fiberglass hull. They were mounted with S/S screws below the water line penetrating about 3/8 into the fiberglass. I'd like to use this product to fill the screw holes after cleaning them is this an appropriate application?

A: Thank you for reaching out. It is. The users above gave great advice. Drilling larger, then filling and using tuck tape or another patch that will easily release from the epoxy is crucial for keeping it from sagging

Q: I need to fill a seam on my wooden boat that is planked with an oily hardwood like Ipe. the wood will not be totally dry when applied. I used Thixo Flex seal in the past and worked well but this product is not available. I was wondering if this West System Six10 will adhere to this oily wood as the Thixo product did

A: Six10 is not as flexible as ThixoFlex. Pettit FlexEpoxy would be a better substitute. Thixoflex should start shipping by mid to late September.

Q: Can I mount a transducer plate to my transom with putting any screws in the mounting plate. Then screw in the transducer to the six10 glued mount plate.

A: I would not do that. Why not just use screws and seal them with boat life caulking
