Product Details

Micron CSC is a great multi-season ablative bottom paint with a copper-copolymer formula that provides controlled release of antifouling biocides at the paint surface.

Drying times depend on ambient temperatures, but ranges between 1-2 hours for touch dry and 16 hours for immersion. At least 2 coats recommended for proper application on bare fiberglass, bare wood, steel, and previously painted surfaces in good condition.

The longevity of the coating depends on the amount of paint applied. CSC antifouling paint retains its effectiveness even when the boat is removed from the water for extended periods (winter storage, for example). To reactivate come springtime, use a stiff brush or power wash lightly. Suitable for sailboats and power boats.

Available in Black, Blue, Green, Red, and Shark White colors in Quart and Gallon sizes. Dark Blue is available in Gallon size only.

Been using this paint for years........I store large boats and every year before putting them away we pressure wash the bottom and I always am consience of how the bottom paint looks, how it cleans up and how it last season to season. This product has come out on top every year since we started monitoring performance about 8 years ago.

We use this on all our clients boats. Also use it on my boat. It goes on smooth with a roller and dries evenly. It also lasts a long time in fresh water. Only thing really needed is waterline touchups.

Great product Geart customer service

First off when the paint arrived it was all over the box so i refused the order. I'm pretty sure the UPS guy let the package of paint fall and was thrown around his truck. Ahhh I called James town and let them know what happened and they shipped out a new order right away. They are awesome, and the customer support was great. I received a new package; the paint cans were still sealed and in good shape. The Antifouling bottom paint went on really nice and works great. Thank you Great job and great paint!

Good Product, Easy to Apply

I've used Interlux Micron CSC previously and it works very well for my application. No issues with the product. Had a shipping issue: one gallon can arrived all bent to the point the lid could not be opened and closed. Jamestown was responsive and sent me an empty can to store the remainder of the paint

Q: Is this product able to be applied to aluminum

A: NO. It will pit your aluminum; there are other products that are safe. There is a tide in the affairs of sailors, which taken at the flood, leads on to fortune. Omitted, all the voyage of their life is bound in shallows and in miseries. On such a full sea we are now afloat. And we must take the current when it serves, or lose our ventures. --William Shakespeare (Julius Caesar)

Q: Hello I'm currently having the bottom done on our power cat It has sea hawk cucote on her now, considering micron csc. Have pressure washed and sanded will micron csc be ok ? Also any slime preventive ideas for waterline

A: I have been using Micron CSC both on my 30' sailboat and 35 knot capable center console in brackish water mid Chesapeake Bay. I keep the sailboat in water 3 years or so at at time and I would say the antifouling properties are good for a solid 1 1/2 years. It seems like moss, or slime, gradually builds up and then barnacles start attaching. I control that by wiping down the hull (with scuba) with a 3M pad, or sometimes just with work gloves. It seems the teflon component really does help with getting organisms to release at that point. The boat sits in mud on really low tides, stripping bottom paint off there, so it is easy to guage effectiveness of the bottom paint. As far as being ablative preventing buildup, I would say not so much. I still fair remaining bottom paint with 60 grit before spring launch. Michael

Q: My Nonsuch 354 bottom is about 280 sq ft. How much CSC do I need per coat?

1 Answer

A: According to the tech sheet posted on the web page, one gallon covers 439.7 square feet, however that does not account for loss. Its' safe to say that one gallon will get you almost two coats. The paint will keep if stored properly so it would be more economical to buy it by the gallon.
