Excellent choice.

The color selection is a little difficult as the color ""chips"" are a bit small. However, it turned out to be an excellent color choice.

Better than expected

[...] I used this product to paint 121ea 4"" by 4"" balustrades. the product preformed very well, gave a great very smooth hard solid coating that looks as though will last for many years. The product tended to sag some on vertical surfaces but I had not found any other paint to give me the hard surface for which I was looking. This product has actually inspired me to take pictures of my work, which I rarely do.

Fantastic stuff

I built a wooden drift boat nearly 10 years ago and applied two coats of Epifanes one part yacht enamel at the time. Just tonight I finished 'restoring' my boat and reapplying two coats of Epifanes paint I had left over from 10 years ago. Yes 10 years ago. I cracked the can and began to stir. Sure I had some pigment on the bottom of the can but when I finished stirring I was amazed that it flowed like new. I utilized an HVLP sprayer, thinned the material appropriately and began to spray. Results...No sags, no orange peel. Mind you....I needed to refinish my interior varnished surfaces but I didn't 'need' to repaint the exterior epifanes from 10 years ago. The Epifanes has held up exceptionally in pretty challenging application of western river float trips with plenty of thermal cycling, and banging against tree limbs and the like. All this and only a sight fade in gloss. And can you believe this is on the exterior of the boat and below the waterline? I am not a paint/epoxy/varnish 'expert' but have applied alot of it. Bottom line...Epifanes is impressive stuff. I am looking forward to another 10+ years of floating down the river and hearing from the bank 'absolutely beautiful boat'.

High Quality Paint is Worth the Price

A high quality paint is always great to use. Spread with High Quality Brush or Foam Roller and you will not be disapointed. I cleaned up with Acetone.

Q: Hello, This question may seem like an odd one. I refinish furniture and have been hoping to find a product for a high lacquer finish that is sealed and may not need a separate primer. I have looked everywhere and researched this. I am struggling to find a lacquer with built in color that I can use in a paint sprayer. I would use it on a sanded, clean wood surface. Is there any reason that I should not consider using this product for the high gloss, sealed finish I'm searching for? Would a separate primer be needed? Would appreciate your thoughts.

Please take a moment to answer one simple question by clicking either link below: How would you rate the support you received? You can copy the following URL into your browser to rate: https://support.jamestowndistributors.com/requests/211257/satisfaction/new/2WoVB7uD4KywHoVOKLqgdqKiX?locale=1 Here's a reminder of what this request was about: It is sprayable, and commonly used on wood. However it's not possible to get a high gloss finish without first sealing the wood. You could heavily thin the first coat or two of paint and use it like a primer, but primer generally does a better job of filling and is easier to sand to a smooth surface which gives you the best gloss.

Q: I recently took delivery of a wooden/dacron canoe that has been beautifully repainted. The color ""dark green"" was chosen verbally (without the benefit of looking at a color chart...lesson learned) based on other canoes this builder/restorer has historically done. Alas, there was some damage to the finished paint work that I would like to remedy. I asked the restorer for the Epifanes paint number so I could order the correct color and was told ""Dark Green"" #72. Looking at the color chart, the #72 appears MUCH darker than the color of my boat. If I were to guess, I would say the color is #62 jade green or #218! Is it possible to get some actual color swatches I can hold up to my boat?

Q: Was this paint formerly called Bootlak? I had used Bootlak with great results but notice there are two new names for Epipanes paint

A: I cannot say for sure on the Bootlak name. I google searched it and as far as I can figure, Bootlak may be a type or color reference within Epifanes brands. I'm sorry that I""m not more help in this regard but I will say that I have used Epifanes two part epoxy paint and also their varnish and I may not ever use anything else. Their products are superior!
