Product Details

This Epifanes Thinner is a high-quality formula for brushing or spraying all Epifanes one-part boat paints, primers and varnishes. The ideal solution for Epifanes MonoUrethane Topside paints, Gloss Clear Varnish, Wood Finish in Gloss and Matte and the Rubbed Effect Varnish. Made from a pure white spirit that goes through double distillation for a clear application and maximum purity. Easy to mix into paints or varnishes for great results.

Epifanes Brush Thinner is available in 500 mL and 1000 mL sizes. Epifanes Spray Thinner is available in 1000 mL and 5000 mL sizes.

Always use recommended thinner with Epiphanes varnish for be

I have used Epiphanes High Gloss varnish for over 40 years for marine and all reefinishing projects.Other high quality thinners work of course. However using recommended Epiphanes one part thinner results in a better ""flow"" of the varnish. This will result in a better high gfloss finish in fewer coats on my experience

epifanes for a long lasting deck finish

refinishing a 26 foot 1949 Hutchinson. stripped the mahogany decks and covering boards down to bare wood, raked out the old seams, restained with a custom stain to match the Hutchinson stain and built the varnish back up to 10 coats using epifanes, thinned 50% on the first coat. results were fantastic. put new seams back in between 9th and 10th coats of varnish. in my opinion epifanes is the most durable finish out there.

Great product. For brush application, the hardware store brand of naphtha based thinner worked just as well for about 1/2 the price, though.
