Info & Guides

MA units have shielded see-thru bowls. A single valve on all double manifold MAX models isolates one filter/separator for service while the other keeps operating, in this way, you can keep running while draining contaminants from the collection bowl or while changing filter elements. For double manifold series order 75 series.

A: The positions are stamped on the valve housing. The tip of the handle is an arrow shape. Up is all off, left is left, right is right, down is both.

Q: null I have a 56hp Yanmar, so I am wondering what size of filter system I need?

1 Answer

A: Go with the 500 series. The smaller Racors take more expensive filter elementss and may not give the flow volume you need. The 500s have less expensive filters and are easier to maintain. I have a 38HP Yamnar and the 500 works great.

Q: null hi there, I am looking to pair up a racor 1000fh2 filtration with a marco up12oil pump for filtering oil. My question is in regards to flow. The racor filter is rated at 180 gph but the marco pump is rated at 238 gph. Will this be just fine or do I risk damaging the filter by pumping at a higher rate than the filter is rated at? Would I be better off to just go with the Marco up6oil, which is rated lower than the filter at 126.8 gph? Thanks for any help you can provide.

A: Hi Tim. I haven't used the fuel system yet. I've spent the last 28 months refurbishing a Freeport 41 sailboat and am going to relaunch the boat this Spring. In addition my boat is powered with an 85hp Perkins diesel so the fuel flow is pretty low. Best regards, Dave

Q: null does this system self prime? If not, how do you prime under way when one filter needs changing?

A: Clarke, I'm not sure yet. I just had a complete fuel system built from the tanks up on my sailboat and that's one of the questions I'll be asking when Spring comes and the system is put into service.
