Product Details

Racor Replacement Vacuum Gauge Kit includes a silicone dampened gauge 0-30 inHG, a lid fitting (9/16 inch--18 SAE threads), and O-ring.

This kit replaces the original 'T' handle.

Note: This is an official replacement by Racor and does NOT feature the original style T handle.

Racor Vacuum Gauges are designed to monitor element condition. By installing a vacuum gauge on the outlet side of the Racor filter, visual monitoring of element condition is possible at a glance.

As the filter element slowly becomes clogged with contaminants, the restriction increases. As the restriction increases and the fuel pump continues to draw fuel, less fuel is sent to the engine and air is pulled from the fuel causing de--gassing.

If restriction continues to increase and the element is not changed, the engine will eventually lose power and stall. At the first indication of decreased performance, note the dial reading or apply the red line decal provided with most kits. This will assist in knowing when to change the filter at the next interval.

Note: Intervals of element changeout may vary depending on fuel cleanliness. Always keep a spare Racor element on hand.

Q: Does this fit the older Racor 500FG which have a .87 inch length threaded area on the t-handle? The newer models have 1.3 inch length area. Thanks.

A: Mike, I had the same concern but the gauge I got does fit my older Racor and works great.

Q: I have a small spin on racor filter I believe its a 120A (100 Series) with spin on element under a small housing, no T handle. I would like to know if it is possible to install a vacuum gauge and if so where. There are 2 inlet and 2 outlet holes, currently only 1 on each side is in use. Thanks

Q: If you remove the T handle and add this gauge, how do you open the fuel filter to change the filters?

A: The gauge screws into a threaded base that you can turn with an open end wrench (it is hex-shaped). That piece does the job of the old T-handle to hold the top on. Works great, just takes more vertical clearance than the T-handle alone.

Q: I've heard that this gauge will not fit pre-2003 Racor 500 filters. I don't know what year my filters were manufactured. How can I find out if this gauge will fit my 500 filter or not?
